This book is not for laypeople!!!!

This book is for use by Roman Catholic Bishops and priests only. It is NOT for laypeople. It is spiritually dangerous for people to say prayers and perform rites - especially those containing any prayers of exorcism - expressly reserved to the Holy Priesthood. If you don't believe me, find a priest who says the traditional form of the Mass and he'll be able to clearly explain.

Every Catholic MUST Own This Book! Roman Ritual Volume 2.

I've successfully used the Roman Ritual to bind and banish anti-Catholic vermin! Do I need to say more? :-)

People who oppose the Catholic Church are not just ignorant and uneducated humans, they're at the very least mildly possessed, if not incarnated progeny of the devil! When I pray certain prayers over these people, they'd literally SCREAM the name of their deity. I got quite a shock when I first encountered this! I've seen gossipers being struck dumb. I've seen strange people coming out of nowhere.
etc.

Other phenomena I've encountered include, but are not limited to:

(1) flickering lights;
(2) the shutting down of electrical and electronic equipment;
(3) sounds of blowing or whirling winds;
(4) sounds of music coming out of nowhere;
(5) sounds of flapping of invisible wings;

etc. etc. etc.

And, of course, when everything is concluded, you will EXPERIENCE joy beyond measure, indescribable with human words.

NOTE:

If you start these Ritual prayers, you must complete and finish them! Do NOT stop midway through anything. Don't be like a Prot whose mind is always flirting and darting around, chasing everything that's "modern" and fashionable.

Every Catholic should and MUST OWN The Roman Ritual Volume 2, at the very least!
Buy ALL 3 volumes, if you can afford them. Though these books were originally designed as guides for Catholic priests, but IMO, any Catholic in the state of grace may use selected portions of these works for private prayers. I'm a Catholic layman, not a priest.

Ross clearly explains how marine science can help saltwater anglers catch more and bigger fish. The book's first and second parts describe, respectively, oceans and fish. In the final section, Ross, an oceanographer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, takes the scientific concepts from the first two parts and applies them to fishing for a variety of species along the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf Coasts. Throughout, information is provided on new technology and boating and fishing safety. Books about the science of hunting or fishing are often lost on general readers, who won't tolerate the leaden style and dense content. Despite some repetition and the occasional confusing passage, Ross generally succeeds where his peers have failed, thanks to clear, even humorous prose and effective use of photographs and diagrams. This comprehensive yet accessible treatise will be of definite interest to anyone serious about saltwater angling. John Rowen

well worth the effort it takes to read it!

Finally a book on fishing that can teach an angler something about the subject. Although it is written to a degree from the author's perspective as an ocean fly fisherman, it has a lot of really good scientific information about all aspects of fish and fishing, oceans, tides, etc. I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to, "catch rather than fish", whether he (or she) is a salt water or fresh water fisherperson. Obviously if you are the latter sort, the portions relating strictly to the ocean and estuaries will not be of much interest. But I know of no book that has given me more information nor made me so excited to try out what I learned!!! I am a life-long avid salt and fresh water angler and considered myself reasonably knowledgable until I read what Mr. Ross has to say.Granted this book takes effort to read. It is more like a text than an easy read. Frankly the first portion of the book put me into a deep slumber after an average of just 5 pages but the last half kept me awake.
I have purchased a copy for my fishing partner since I don't want to give up my copy. My wife(also nuts about fishing) will never see this book. She is already much too competitive(and lucky)! I figure that the information in this book will give me the edge I deserve.

No nonsense, serious fishing!

David Ross gets to the point with consise, informative strategies about surfcasting. The information he presents does not reek of egomania, but instead offers a variety of methods in catching the Big Kauna. It's pure fishing and a guide that is keeping me in line during these colder months. Another positive about this book was the fact that I did not feel like it was an advertising section for certain tackle or gear. The details were not overly wordy, but were easy to grasp and take out to the jetty. I recommend this book to all surfcasters - both rod and fly alike. Good fishing!!

The first section is a slow read, but gets more interesting after 100 or so pages.

The first 100 pages are pretty dry. Mostly about water, salinity and the weather. History stuff too. Section 2 gets into fish and their behavior which is better. I feel like I'm learning a lot, and becoming a more knowledgeable angler, but what I've learned hasn’t produced more or bigger fish yet. I haven't finished the book. I keep meaning to, but every time I pick it up I can only manage a couple pages at a time. Not a page turner by any means.
I'm at a frustrating point in my stage of angling wisdom. I've been fishing recreationally for over 20 years. Although I’ve never caught a trophy fish in any species, I’ve got enough fish to enjoy the sport and want to go back all the time. This summer I’ve been applying the knowledge I’ve attained from this book, and a few videos, and I’m catching less and smaller fish. Perhaps the secret to success is in the end of the book.

This book is a great read for anyone who needs to consult about drugs for psychology. As a counseling student I won't be prescribing drugs to my clients, but I can reference this books to gain a better understanding of what they are taking.

excellent book, truly honest

I have bought this book becuz i myself is a mental health patient for many years, suffered tremendously from depression and bipolar disorder. this book is great for anyone who wants to know more about the drugs they are taking. the book gives a thorough explanation of different drugs and an honest opinion of their side effects, all in laymen's term. I am very thank to Healy.

Meh....

This book is not interesting to read nor was it helpful in our instructor's class as she rarely used the book. In the beginning of the class, I did read through chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4, and completed notes as well as flash cards for study. I quickly learned that our tests and quizzes in class had very little to do with the material in this book. Again, this book is boring. The excerpts and examples throughout the book were distracting, equally boring, and unhelpful. I bought the ebook. Near the end of our semester I began using the search tool often to search keywords for any questions I had. That was likely the only benefit about my purchase. However, I do feel that my online searches were actually more helpful, more detailed, and undeniably more interesting than from the book. I cannot say this book will last long in my library following this class as a reference.

I'm still glad I bought it

I bought this for my Nursing Research course because it was a required textbook. This shipped to my house really quickly, and came in the exact condition as described. Although my professor didn't really require us to read this for the course, I'm still glad I bought it. It was a good price, and I still ended up reading it for supplemental information. It makes concepts really clear and is very easy to read.

Agonizing!

This book is hard to understand. The concepts were not clear and not well-organized. Author is always referring to book references at the end of each chapter (e.g. "Refer to Munro2 for calculation of the chi-square statistic"). This book made it an agonizing semester. My Behavioral Statistics notes were way much better than this book.

About the Author
David M. Buss received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkley in 1981. He began his career in academics at Harvard, later moving to the University of Michigan before accepting his current position as Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas. His primary research interests include human sexuality, mating strategies, conflict between the sexes, homicide, stalking, and sexual victimization. The author of more than 200 scientific articles and 6 books, Buss has won numerous awards including the American Psychological Association (APA) Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology (1988), the APA G. Stanley Hall Lectureship (1990), the APA Distinguished Scientist Lecturer Award (2001), and the Robert W. Hamilton Book Award (2000) for the first edition of Evolutionary Psychology: The New Science of the Mind. He is also the editor of the first comprehensive Handbook of Evolutionary Psychology (2005, Wiley). He enjoys extensive cross-cultural research collaborations and lectures widely within the United States and abroad.

Like fine wine: 5th ed of the original textbook in Evolutionary Psychology

The 5th edition of David Buss's textbook, Evolutionary Psychology, provides a sparkling update to the original and now classic undergraduate textbook in the field. Buss's textbook was published in its first edition in 1999, the first such textbook in the field. The remarkable success of the field and of this textbook generated a flurry of would-be competitor textbooks. I have used nearly every one of them at one time or another as a textbook for my undergraduate courses in evolutionary psychology. Yet I always return to Buss's textbook. Buss's command of the field and his engaging writing are second-to-none, and with each edition he provides a thorough and current update to the textbook, reflecting the latest empirical and theoretical advances. David Buss's Evolutionary Psychology is simply the best textbook available in the field. In fact, Buss's writing and presentation is so clear and straightforward that this book is one of the very best introductions to the field for anyone who has interest in learning about evolutionary psychology. The 5th ed of Evolutionary Psychology refines and updates once again this now-classic textbook.

A great insight to why we do the things we do

I bought this book after seeing it on Tai Lopez's top recommended books list. It's an extremely easy read and gives tons of valuable insight to human behavior. It covers a variety of topics relating to the "hard-wired" preferences our brain has in terms of mate selection, the foods we eat, and decision making. This book sheds light on the inner workings of how and why humans operate.

Superb evolutionary psychology text - informative, engaging, and accessible.

This is an outstanding textbook. I've been reading every new edition of this text since it was in its 2nd edition many years ago, and it keeps getting better with every iteration. It's been my personal choice for pleasure, for recommending evolutionary psychology texts to others, and for teaching university courses. It's one of the few textbooks I've ever come across - along with John Alcock's excellent Animal Behavior - that can be read solely for pleasure. The writing is engaging, the material is fascinating, and even when the ideas are conceptually challenging, the treatment is thoroughly accessible. I re-read this book every time I'm gearing up to teach a course in evolutionary psychology, plus a few times for fun or as a refresher. It feels like I'm learning something new every time I read it, and it's always a fun and engaging read. I have bought this text for friends, gifted it to fellow professors, and plan to keep using it in my college evolutionary psychology courses. It's a gem of a textbook, and I recommend it in the highest possible terms.
