Decent ending to the series

I did not think this was the best book of the three in the series but did feel it was a decent ending to the trilogy. The book veers from the suspense of a zombie thriller to more along the lines of the second book and where walking dead likes to highlight which is the struggle for power by people when society crumbles.
The story line involving North Korea was clever but not necessary. It really didn't add to the main story. I'm not sure what the reviewer is saying about them coming to the rescue of everyone , that simply didn't happen. They were there to help capture the oil tanker, find the location of the fuel depot and return home to be able to take over the world. But again this story didn't pan out and added nothing substantial to the plot.
As for the racism and religious fanaticism which the reverend used to hold his small city together... Well I actually thought it was half way believable even if it was over generalized and a bit stereotypical. But the author is highlighting that when society falls people capitalize and grab power where they can and those people aren't always going to be nice.

A great outline gone bad....

I am sorry to say that what should have been a masterful ending to a great trilogy fell way to short of expectations.
The way the characters fell into poorly crafted storyline to me was maddening!!! And what could have been a great ending to this trilogy came up so unimaginatively short.
What I mean by this is after surviving an apocalypse countless trials and tribulations theses characters suddenly became stupid and obvious - falling into poorly put together situations that could have been so much more if the writer and editorial team had taken their time and simply developed the storyline.
To survive an apocalypse only to be caught up by simple racism was laughable and a lazy way out.
I am not saying the story couldn't have gone this way but what happened to allowing the story to build allowing the characters finding themselves in a situation that unfolds?
How the characters reacted was obviously and foolish and seemed like the writer just gave up and went for the easy out and the story was right there, sorry but I was a massive let down......

Disappointing

One of the things that I quite liked about the Apocalypse Z series was that it clung to a slender thread of realism throughout the first two books in the series: the protagonists weren't military veterans, the antagonists weren't aliens or villians intent on global conquest, and there was a happy absence of high tech gadgets. Well that slender thread of realism sadly snapped in Apocalypse Z: The Wrath of the Just. The villians of the story couldn't be more sadly stereotyped and unrealistic if they lived in a hollowed out volcano and wore monocles.
The Apocalypse Z series is fiction and perhaps expecting realism in a work of fiction is unrealistic. But for me, the loss of realism, the loss of the "everyman" quality that qualified all of the characters (other than the zombies) in the the first two books in the series, is a real shame. It was that realism that, for me, made the series stand out in a genre heavily populated by works where the hero is typically a former special forces soldier with a host of "gee whiz" gadgets fighting his way through the undead hordes to confront the evil warlord behind the rise of the zombies. Surrendering the realism that characterized the first two books in the series for ridiculously stereotyped and unrealistic villians in the third book was, in my view, a poor choice that turned Apocalypse Z: The Wrath of the Just into a huge disappointment.
