Great for a beginner in this area.

I got it when this one is on sale at $2.99.
So I did not expect much from it; however, after I browsed for a while, it turned out to be one of the great books I own.
It introduces this topic in the straightforward fashion along with good examples and make everything less difficult than supposed to be.
Note that everything in this edition is exactly the same as the hardcover one costing more than $100.
Revised review
Random vibration composed of two things: Statistics and Vibrations. To understand well in the subject, it is necessary to have strong in Statistics. This book doesn't help much for this part so you'd better begin with some other basic statistical textbooks like Hsu's.
Unlike deterministic vibration, the random vibration problems are impossibly solved in time domain. Most of time, it is necessary to do the frequency analysis. This book will force you into this area a little early. I think it's better to practice the problems a little more. Then the book will bring you from Analog to Digital that requires the deep understanding of how to approximate the continuous functions to the discrete functions. It had taken me a few months to make some senses of random vibrations in the real applications.
I would say the topic is tough but don't be too discouraged. It is understandable.

If you are going to learn computer vision and you come from CS background you may not have a good enough mathematical knowledge in signal processing. This book is a easy to read material witch will give you the basic knowledge you should have to master computer vision and other related signal processing branches.
It uses intuitive proofs and explanations so if you are looking for a very abstract and deep book on signal processing you should not purchase this book.
Great for engineers and professionals, too basic for mathematicians.
